How To Store a Calligraphy Pen?
i just got a calligraphy pen and it is a beginner kit and it has an ink cartridge that you have to poke a hole in with the actual calligraphy nub and I'm done using it and the book says to "replace the cap during use and wash nibs in warm soapy water before storing." But its not like I'm storing the pen for a long long time but will the ink dry up if i just put the cap on the pen? Or do i have to throw out the ink cartridge completely?

You don't want the ink to dry up in the nib. So while the cartridge is connected, you just cap the pen so it won't dry up. When you change nibs, you take the nib and clean it out really well to get the ink out of it, then store it some place where the delicate point won't get damaged.
I've never seen a calligraphy pen that uses cartridges. Years ago, when I was in school, there were fountain pens that worked with cartridges, but you'd use them every day so there wasn't as much of a chance of them drying out. If you put away a cartridge pen for a month, it might dry out. So with a calligraphy pen, when you start a new cartridge you're kind of committing to using up all the ink within a week or two. The ink -will- dry up with the cap on the pen, but it takes a while.
