Does Nature's Miracle ultra disinfectant or mikro-qwat really kill parvo in homes?
My puppy was diagnosed with Parvo yesterday, and we're optimistic she will be coming home in the next week. Does anyone know of any other solutions that really work other than bleach? a few cleaners claim to, but I'm apprehensive about trusting it completely.
I would use bleach. It isn't your enemy! And this is coming from a total hippie who cleans her house with vinegar and lemon juice, lol. Don't use the bleach with the dog in the house. You know what's REALLY awesome about bleach? It will evaporate! Part of the reason it's so damned asphyxiating when you use it is that it is evaporating in fast-motion. Just make sure you don't expose yourself to it for long periods of time without fresh air, and, of course, don't ever mix it with any other cleansers. They do sell other products that kill parvo, but they're more expensive and less readily available, so why waste your money? I used to have to use a solution known as parvosol when I worked in the animal hospitals... That stuff is hell and my hands cracked and bled when it got in my gloves. I would much rather use bleach, if I had to kill parvo ;) Best of luck to you and your pet!! weird bleach facts: People use it to kill microbes on raw food before giving it to carnivorous pets, sometimes. If a dog drinks from a bucket of diluted bleach water, it will... get some diarrhea (don't do it, though!). It's used to sterilize food service equipment, most of the time.
